We also do cooling unit repairs - rebuilds to a number of different manufacturers. Vintage units are not

a problem. We also retrofit vintage units to newer style controls and units that are gas only we can

retrofit to be two way ( both gas and electric )

The internal tubing is coated with zinc and then painted on all units we rebuild. Why do we do this? Like a boiler that has zinc andode inside, the chemicals in water ( present in moisture also ) will attack steel. But it will attack softer metals first. The zinc is a sacrificial metal. While the chemicals are busy attacking the zinc, the steel tubing remains safe. This prolongs life of the cooling unit by years.

We also use closed foam cells in our cooling unit rebuilds, which is rated waterproof by the U.S. Coast Guard. The stock foam is open cell type, which over time will soak up moisture like a sponge from the frost created on the tubing.
