Here is a picture of a 1979 dometic cooling unit. The owner reported that it would hardly cool anymore. One common problem with vintage units is the hydrogen gas seeps thru the pores of the steel tubing. This takes years to happen, but it does. As the unit looses gas pressure, the cooling gets worse.Cutting the unit open, flushing it out, and a fresh charge usually takes care of it. We do not use hydrogen in our rebuilding process, instead we use helium. Much safer and not explosive like hydrogen. To the left is the picture of it running on electric.
